Chapter – 12
Rare, second only to natural red diamonds.
She also had a natural red diamond, a gift from her father.
Most green diamonds on the market now are artificially irradiated synthetic stones.
âThanks, Dad.â Chu Yihan held the green diamond in her hands, unwilling to let go. âHow much did it cost to buy it? It mustâve cost at least nine figures, right?â
Her father took a sip of the Puâer tea on the table. âYou donât need to worry about the cost. Our family isnât short on money. As long as you like it, thatâs enough.â
Her mother smiled and shook her head. This was her husbandâs usual sayingâtrue wealth nurtures elegance.
A girl raised in comfort and abundance during her formative years easily develops a composed and extraordinary temperament.
Besides providing excellent material conditions, they had created a rich and comfortable environment for her to grow up in.
Girls are naturally attentive to details, and if taught to be âstingy,â they easily become petty.
From a young age, they had taken her to various places, exposing her to many things, broadening her horizons, and increasing her experience.
This upbringing allowed their daughter to now be independent, have her own opinions, be wise, and know exactly what she truly wanted.
Raising a child in wealth isnât just an investment in educationâitâs an investment in cultural refinement.
If children are spoiled in the wrong way, they become lazy, without their own thoughts, squandering their days in idleness.
No matter how large the inheritance, it will be squandered if handed to such children.
Chapter 11: Youâre the Most Important
Chu Yihan woke up early today.
Her father, having seen her come downstairs at this hour, was surprised. âYiyi, why didnât you sleep in? Youâre the boss; you donât have to rush to the studio this early.â
Chu Yihan took the warm milk handed to her by the maid and drank a sip. âDad, you say that, but youâre the boss too. Why are you up so early?â
Her father replied, âI donât have the habit of sleeping in. Youâre different.â
Chu Yihan pouted slightly. How could her father reveal her little secret like that? âIs Mom still asleep?â
âYes,â her father glanced at her mother beside him. âGo ahead and sit down for breakfast.â
Chu Yihan drank the rest of her milk and wiped her mouth. âIâll eat at the studio.â
Her father looked puzzled. âWhatâs so urgent?â
âThereâs a new batch of jewelry at the studio. Dad, Iâll go first.â With that, she headed out.
Her father, hearing this, was momentarily speechless. He had thought something serious had happened at her studio. âSure, sure. Jewelry is more important than Dad. Itâs been so long since we had breakfast together.â
Chu Yihan paused. She was all too familiar with this tactic of her fatherâs.
Turning back, she walked to the table and pulled out a chair. âIâll have breakfast with you. How can jewelry be more important than my dad? Youâre the most important.â
âYou always say sweet things. Why didnât I see this realization earlier?â her father replied. âCan your studioâs jewelry really compare to the one I gave you?â
â…â She laughed inwardly. Her father was comparing again. âOf course not. Nothing can compare to what you gave me.â
Who could give a gift like her fatherâs? But even the jewelry in her studio wasnât cheap; the display area on the first floor only had high-end luxury pieces.
Her father, hearing this, was pleased. He casually asked, âWhat do you plan to do with the green diamond?â
Chu Yihan took a bite of French toast and replied leisurely, âI havenât decided yet. Iâll put it in the display cabinet at home first.â
She hadnât even set the red diamond her father had given her into jewelry yet, as she had been busy designing necklaces and rings for customers and hadnât had time to make her own pieces.
Her father said, âThatâs fine. Keep it as a display piece; thatâs not bad either.â
â!â Her wealthy father! Who would treat a nine-figure diamond like a mere ornament?
After breakfast, the father and daughter left together.
Her father reminded her, âDrive slowly, and be safe.â
âOkay.â
At the Studio
Chu Yihan first checked the newly purchased jewelry before heading to the second floor.
She opened the door next to her office. âYou two are here? Havenât had breakfast? I brought some for you.â She set down a thermal food container on the table.
âYiyi, sit down!â Zeng Xi pulled her to sit beside her, curiosity blazing. âYueâer said you have someone you like. Tell me, how far along are things?â
âI went to Lu City and missed such an important thing,â Chu Yihan murmured. âNothing has progressed.â
Yueâer looked surprised. âImpossible! Didnât you go to the club to get the car keys? Didnât see him?â
Chu Yihan leaned back on the sofa, shrugging. âI saw him. We talked for a few minutes, and then he left. I had dinner alone.â
Yueâer opened the thermal container and said, âThat Jiang Yu really has guts, leaving our beautiful Yiyi all alone like that.â
She added, âBut thatâs the kind of thing he might do. After all, youâve only met twice.â
âMm.â Chu Yihanâs expression was calm, her voice gentle. âNo rush. I got a membership at Feile Club. Iâll go there when I have time and run into him by chance.â
âYiyi, youâre really going all out! That membership must be expensive.â Zeng Xi was curious. âWhat exactly does Jiang Yu look like? Someone who makes you fall for himâI really want to see him.â
On this, Yueâer had something to say. She had seen Jiang Yu. âI canât describe him in words. Let me put it this way: his looks and body are flawless.â
Zeng Xi asked, âSomeone like him must have a lot of girls chasing him. Could he be a playboy? If so, heâs not worth your liking.â
