Chapter : 22
Song Zhaoguang frowned. He knew very well that his threats were nothing more than a formality to Song Ling. Every time Song Ling finished giving blood transfusions for Song Jinyi, he would always go completely out of control.
Last time, after he caused trouble at Jiang Shiyan’s entrance celebration banquet, and Song Zhaoguang scolded him a couple of times, Song Ling directly ordered luosifen delivery and even deliberately had the delivery guy come just to piss him off.
To avoid unnecessary trouble, Song Zhaoguang didn’t want to argue with him further. On the day the Xuri Mall opened, he had already made full preparations—Song Ling wouldn’t be able to cause any trouble.
After mocking him, Song Ling grabbed the milk and banana and stood up, heading toward the surgical department.
His steps were fast, as if he were rushing to catch someone.
Zhou Qingluo arrived at the surgical office, but everyone else had already gone to the cafeteria. Only Zhou Qingmu was still writing medical records.
“Sis, eat first.”
Zhou Qingmu put down her pen and rubbed her stomach. “I’m actually hungry. Dad’s cooking really is delicious.”
Zhou Qingluo said, “Dad’s cooking is so good he could totally open a restaurant and take orders.”
“That’s just Dad’s personality—timid and unconfident. He’s always afraid he won’t do well.”
Just as Zhou Qingmu opened her lunchbox, her colleagues returned from eating and immediately gathered around.
“What did uncle make for you today?”
“Braised pork ribs, scrambled eggs with loofah. Come try some.”
Zhou Shoulin had packed her a generous amount of ribs, as if afraid she wouldn’t eat enough.
Her colleagues didn’t hold back. One of them picked up a rib, took a bite, and closed their eyes in enjoyment.
“Qingmu, tell your dad to apply to be the hospital cafeteria chef. This is too good.”
“Oh my god, I’ve never had ribs this good.”
One colleague suddenly had an idea. “Hey Qingmu, why don’t you have your dad make extra portions? We’ll pay for it as meal orders.” She paused and glanced at Zhou Qingluo. “Your brother can deliver them at noon.”
As soon as she said that, another colleague teased, “Do you want the food, or do you want to see the brother?”
“Can’t I want both?”
Zhou Qingluo smiled as he listened to their teasing, but some of their words lingered in his mind.
Maybe his father really could open a pure delivery-based food business.
Just as he was about to ask, one of the doctors spoke up.
“By the way, Qingmu, if we order meals from your dad, can your brother deliver them for us?”
Zhou Qingluo smiled and agreed. “Of course, no problem.”
“Great. Go talk to your dad then. If it works, we’ll start ordering tomorrow.”
Feeling pleased, Zhou Qingluo said goodbye and left the surgical office—only to run straight into Song Ling outside.
Song Ling was still dressed the same way, wrapped up tightly. He leaned against the wall, his eyes hidden behind sunglasses, looking somewhere distant.
With his slightly rebellious aura, tilted cap, and cold expression, if you added a silver chain and stage lighting, he could probably go straight on stage to dance hip-hop.
Zhou Qingluo took a couple of steps forward, and Song Ling immediately followed.
Zhou Qingluo’s smile froze. He frowned. “Are you following me?”
“Yes,” Song Ling answered.
Zhou Qingluo ignored him and kept walking. Song Ling followed step by step.
When Zhou Qingluo stopped, Song Ling also stopped.
“Why are you following me?”
“I’m not doing anything.”
Of course Zhou Qingluo knew why he was following him—it was just because his face resembled Song Ling’s beloved “white moonlight” by a few percent.
Now that the white moonlight was gone, he probably needed warmth and comfort.
Zhou Qingluo raised his index finger and waved it seriously. “Stop following me. Nothing will come of this.”
I’m not interested in being a substitute.
“……”
At that moment, a female doctor came out of the surgical office and walked shyly up to Zhou Qingluo.
“Qingmu’s brother, wait a moment.”
Zhou Qingluo stopped, his frown relaxing into a smile. “I’m Zhou Qingluo. What can I help you with?”
“I actually run a public medical education account. Qingmu told me you can draw and are signed with Xingchen Original Comics. I was wondering if I could commission you for some illustrations for my articles.”
Zhou Qingluo smiled generously. “Sure.”
“That’s great! Let’s add each other on WeChat.”
After exchanging contacts, the doctor happily ran back and waved. “I’ll contact you anytime, Zhou Qingluo.”
After that, Zhou Qingluo turned to leave.
Song Ling still followed him step by step.
On the way downstairs, Zhou Qingluo completely ignored him as if he were air.
Song Ling suddenly said lightly, “So you’ve got a result with her?”
Zhou Qingluo rolled his eyes at the air and said nothing.
When they reached the electric bike, Zhou Qingluo sat down—only for Song Ling to climb on right after him.
He turned back in confusion. “What are you doing?”
The shameless one replied calmly, “I haven’t eaten.”
“Unlucky for you, I already have.”
Zhou Qingluo signaled for him to get off with his eyes, but Song Ling didn’t move at all. His aura was cold and unyielding.
At noon, the sun was harsh and glaring. Zhou Qingluo was getting annoyed.
“Get down. I still have things to do at home.”
“Zhou Qingluo, two months ago, weren’t you desperately trying to get into my arms?”
Zhou Qingluo’s breathing stalled.
He had tried so hard to avoid thinking about that incident, yet Song Ling brought it up so casually.
Before he could respond, Song Ling continued, “Playing hard to get?”
Zhou Qingluo: “……”
What the hell “playing hard to get”?!
“Used to ignore me, now I’m not worthy of you?”
“???”
How could he say something like that so blatantly?
Zhou Qingluo was completely stunned by Song Ling’s powerful imagination and silently prayed for some righteous light to strike this narcissist awake.
He knew Song Ling wasn’t normal.
And he absolutely couldn’t provoke him—if he snapped and grabbed his throat, he’d be done for.
