Chapter – 01
Ā I Escaped Death from Overwork, Only to Be Brutally Killed?!
Ha, seriously.
If thereās anyone more pitiful than me, come out and show yourself.
I never thought Iād say goodbye to the world at the young age of twenty-five because of overwork.
My resentment didnāt last long. When I opened my eyes again, I had become Hazel Love. Damn it!
Who is Hazel Love, you ask?
She is a loyal subordinate and a supporting extra to the male lead in the novel .
That novel? Itās the one I finished reading this morning in the company restroom.
Hazel Love plays a fairly important role early in the storyāsheās the one who guides the female lead, Lily Daywors, to the male lead, Jed Terry Elkium, when Lily first visits the knight order.
And now Iāve suddenly become a character in that novel. Seriously, what kind of nonsense is this?
Hazel Love is actually quite capable.
Despite being a commoner with no family backing, she joined the Imperial Knights as the top recruit.
That place is the First Knight Orderāalso known as the White Dragon Knightsāled by the Crown Prince, who is also the male lead, and made up of the most skilled knights in the empire.
On top of that, sheās the only illusion mage in the order, known by the nickname āOne Against a Hundred.ā
She has a good personality and gets along well with her peers. She always completes her missions cleanly, earning the trust of the male lead.
Even though she isnāt rich, she diligently saves money, and sheās so pretty that she gets confessed to once every three days.
So why is she pitiful
Because while the male and female leads are busy falling in love and flirting, sheās stuck handling a mountain of tasks assigned by the male leadāand ends up dying from overwork early in the story.
Her hair flows down to her waist in thick, wavy strands of vivid reddish-gold.
Her eyelashes are long and full, and her slightly drooping eye corners give her a gentle look. Her large, glass-like golden eyes are striking.
Even though she frequently goes on subjugation missions and trains under the sun, her skin remains flawless.
Isnāt that such a waste?!
She may be the only illusion mage in the knight order, so they wouldnāt let her go easilyābut dying from overwork like this is way too much of a loss.
I already died from overwork once, and now Iām reborn only to face the same fate again?
Then why bring me back at all?! I lived a decent life!
That twisted god who gave me such a pathetic fate wouldnāt even have an excuse if I stormed up there to complain.
āLike hell Iām going to die from overwork again. Iād rather die.ā
So the moment I realized who I had become, I grabbed some stiff paper and started writing my resignation letter.
Adapting to the world? Accepting fate? Playing a supporting role? Forget all that!
As of today, I resign from the knight order. Done.
I didnāt hesitate for even a second. I decided to focus only on surviving.
There were some bumps along the way, but it didnāt take long for me to quit the knight order. Right after that, I gathered money, packed my things, and settled here in Ferrarium.
The mercenary guild I opened began attracting people from the very first day, and my wealth kept growing nonstop.
I even met my destined partner and got married.
A perfect, admirable, and lovable husbandāsomeone so amazing Iād want to brag about him everywhereāwho only has eyes for me.
The one person I planned to spend my entire life with.
Thatās how it wasā¦
But thenā¦
A huge problem arose.
Just yesterday, I found out my husbandās true identity.
