Chapter 10
“Mr. Gary, it’s similar to the way you use magic to put a protective barrier around the house. Do you think you can do it too, Neya?”
“Yes, I’ll do it!”
Whatever it was, the fact that she could do it herself made Neya nod eagerly with anticipation.
“Then I’ll clean your room, Neya. Meanwhile, go to my room and change into the green dress. You need to wear something comfortable.”
“Yes!”
Neya immediately rummaged through the wardrobe, grabbed a cute dress mixed with white and green, and dashed out of the room, clearly excited.
As soon as Neya ran off, only Gary and Shane remained in the room.
Gary asked hesitantly,
“What exactly are you planning to make her do?”
Shane replied calmly,
“The maid brought a bunch of flower seeds. I think she got them as a free gift from the grocery store.”
“Wait a second.”
Gary hurriedly interrupted, wearing an uneasy smile.
“…Originally, flowers were strictly forbidden in this mansion, right? Azure hated them so much.”
“Yes, that’s right.”
Azure hated all kinds of flowers, and both of them knew exactly why.
Anyway, that’s why this place didn’t even have flowers for decoration, let alone a vegetable patch. And now suddenly they’re planting flowers?
But Shane, seemingly unconcerned by Gary’s worries, calmly opened the notebook he always carried.
“However, Neya likes flowers. At her age, it’s said that nurturing something is good for emotional development. And since the young lady never comes near the vegetable patch anyway, it shouldn’t matter.”
“…”
Gary felt a surge of respect for Shane. Truly, he had become an excellent parent figure.
Including Neya, the three of them went out to the vegetable patch behind the mansion.
The patch was filled with nutritious soil, but no one had been interested in growing crops, so it had been left unattended.
The land was perfect for cultivation, but since all they had were flower seeds, they decided to fill the patch with flowers as originally intended.
“All set!”
Neya called out in a lively voice, holding a trowel firmly in one hand.
The sun shone brightly, so Shane put a straw hat he had prepared earlier on Neya’s head.
Dressed in her green dress and wearing the straw hat, Neya looked incredibly adorable.
Gary muttered with a happy smile,
“Really cute… I should have brought my camera.”
“No worries, I brought one,”
Shane said, pulling out a camera he had thoroughly prepared. Gary looked at him in astonishment.
Ignoring Gary’s gaze, Shane raised the camera.
“Neya, stay right there.”
“Yes!”
Neya smiled brightly at Shane, still holding the trowel tightly in one hand.
