Ding!

I woke up to the cheerful sound of a notification.

“Fwaaah—yawn.”

The chirping of birds echoed outside.

After savoring the softness of the blanket against my skin, I threw it off and got out of bed.

I stretched leisurely, and the moment I stepped away from the bed, I opened the window first.

“Good morning!”

The refreshing morning air seeped into the back of my neck and through my pajamas, instantly waking me up.

I immediately slipped on a light cardigan and washed my face with lukewarm water.

After drying my face with a soft towel, I tied my hair up with a cute hair tie and headed to the kitchen.

Then I checked on the yogurt that had been fermenting since yesterday.

I sniffed it to make sure it had turned out well, then happily took out a clear glass cup.

I poured in enough thickened yogurt to fill more than half the cup, then scooped up a generous spoonful of fruit jam and placed it on top.

Using the wooden spoon I’d taken the jam with, I ate the yogurt one bite at a time while starting my cleaning.

I opened all the windows, swept the dust from the floor with a broom, and carefully dusted even the corners with a duster.

And another bite of yogurt.

The refreshing yogurt and sweet fruit jam made my appetite perk up.

After finishing my simple morning cleaning, I immediately washed the empty glass and put it away.

“Now I have to go harvest the rest of the corn!”

It was also the day the corn merchant was scheduled to visit, so I needed to finish my work quickly and go see him.

I walked along the path with excited steps until I ran into Priam, who was picking fruit from a ladder.

“Miel!”

Priam climbed down from the ladder and greeted me happily. While chatting for a moment, I took the opportunity to show off the sickle I’d upgraded recently.

“Ta-da!”

I had a lot of work to do, so after promising that I’d come visit next time to exchange diaries, I headed back toward the vegetable garden.

Then I ran into the baker whose torn sleeve I’d repaired a few days ago.

“Miel—!”

“Oh!”

I waved and greeted her, and she smiled brightly.

“Come by the bakery sometime! I tried making that sweet bread with garlic that you said you wanted to eat before!”

I was overjoyed at the news I’d been waiting for.

“Really?! I’ll definitely come by later!”

Energized by the good news, I harvested the rest of the corn without hesitation using my upgraded sickle.

I got a little too enthusiastic, though, and ended up slightly injuring myself.

“Ow, that hurts.”

I was planning to go home, treat the wound, and then visit the merchant, but just then I ran into Siad, who happened to be making his rounds.

The moment he saw my arm covered in blood, his expression hardened.

“Are you injured?”

“I made a little mistake while harvesting and… accidentally cut myself.”

“I’ll treat you.”

He pulled out the bandages and cast a healing skill. The wound on my arm disappeared without leaving a trace.

“Please be careful. You get injured so often that I feel as though my lifespan is being shortened.”

“I’m sorry. Ah! As for the medical fee, I’ll—”

“It’s fine. More importantly, take these potions with you. In case I’m not around.”

A pile of rare-grade potions spilled out from his arms.

He was giving me such expensive potions without charging me anything.

I felt too guilty to accept them, and we had a brief argument about it, but, naturally, Siad won.

I simply can’t win when Siad looks hurt.

Still, I was glad that I could go straight to the corn merchant without wasting any more time.

With my heart pounding, I wandered around the village until I spotted the merchant sitting at one side of the plaza, already munching on his third ear of corn.

“Hello! I’d like to exchange 3,000 corn for a fountain.”

The merchant rummaged around inside his cart before pulling something out.

“Here you are. Place this chip wherever you want, then press the button, and a fountain will be installed there.”

“Caw! Thank you!”

I let out a crow-like cry, eagerly accepted the chip, and ran all the way home.

I’d already decided exactly where I wanted to install it.

Without hesitation, I headed toward the yard.

“Wow, I’m nervous.”

I placed the chip in the exact spot and firmly pressed the button.

A soft cloud of smoke quickly rose into the air, followed by a pop!

And in that spot, a beautifully shimmering fountain appeared.

It was truly dazzling—so beautiful that it almost hurt my eyes to look at it.

I couldn’t contain my excitement.

“It’s sooo pretty! It’s really beautiful. I should buy some flowers and float them in it!”

I jumped around happily until I spotted Kais passing nearby and dragged him over.

“Why?”

Instead of answering, I showed him the newly installed fountain in the corner of the yard.

When I told him that I wanted to float flowers on the water later, Kais said he’d personally send me some flowers.

As a little gift to commemorate all the hard work I’d done.

Ah, today is such a happy day.

I gazed at the fountain in satisfaction for quite a while, but eventually I started getting hungry, so I made lunch.

Not long afterward, just as Kais had promised, a flower delivery arrived. There were so many bouquets that they covered the fence in front of my house.

While I was marveling at the enormous quantity of flowers—enough to open an entire flower shop—more welcome guests arrived one after another, accompanied by the sound of horse hooves.

“Oh my!”

Two adorable faces as lovely as dolls suddenly peeked out from behind the bouquets they were carrying.

“Kids! You came to visit?”

“Yeah. Let’s play, Miel.”

A fountain had appeared, and the twins had even come to visit me on their own.

I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Feeling incredibly happy, I prepared a generous lunch and decided to have a picnic while looking at the flower-filled fountain.

The sandwiches I’d prepared in a fairly large quantity disappeared into the twins’ mouths in an instant.

Even after that, they still looked like they wanted more, so I handed them some apples I’d carved into rabbit shapes beforehand.

The twins didn’t seem particularly interested at first, but they couldn’t resist my expectant gaze and each picked up an apple.

Then Yuun held out a piece of apple toward me.

“Miel, too.”

“Okay!”

I happily opened my mouth and accepted the apple.

A faint look of satisfaction crossed Yuun’s face.

Just from accepting a piece of apple, both twins’ affection levels went up together.
