Whose Subordinate Is This?

Lu Qianchuan looked at Chu Zilan.

Chu Zilan frowned slightly.

Ding Li thought to herself: she probably can’t understand why this woman is so reckless. She had just been half-dead down the mountain and only survived thanks to her rescue—and now she wants to go right back down to court death again.

Ding Li quickly came up with a reason:
“I’ve been down the mountain for quite a while, so I’m familiar with the situation. I might be able to help.”

That was modest—she wasn’t just familiar. She knew the early plot inside out… well, at least she’d read it once.

But Lu Qianchuan showed no reaction, and Chu Zilan still seemed doubtful.

Ding Li added, “And I’m also worried about what’s happening down there. Please take me with you, okay?”

Chu Zilan asked, “Do you have family there?”

Ding Li immediately shook her head. “No, no.”

Chu Zilan looked at her silently.

Ding Li suddenly realized something and jumped off the bed. “I’m completely fine, don’t worry!”

She sighed dramatically. “I’ve never flown on a sword before. I didn’t know the view from the sky could be this beautiful. Look at these mountains—so endless. This water—so vast.”

She added sincerely, “Immortal Chu, your sword flying is amazing!”

Chu Zilan: “……”

After a moment, Chu Zilan said, “Hold tight.”

Ding Li instinctively hugged her tighter. Before she could react, Chu Zilan suddenly dove downward.

In an instant, they landed.

Ding Li was still clinging to Chu Zilan when Lu Qianchuan’s voice came from ahead:

“What are you doing?” The handsome man frowned at Ding Li. “Eliminating demons and upholding justice?”

Look at that disdainful gaze, that mocking expression—whose subordinate is this guy?!

Ding Li said weakly, “Immortal Chu…” Then she immediately realized—wait, wrong target! The one she should be acting pitiful toward is Lu Qianchuan!

In the original novel, the story began with a small town being attacked by demons. Chu Zilan descended the mountain to eliminate them and rescued Su Xiangqing.

But now…

Where were the demons?

Had they hidden themselves?

Something wasn’t right. Ding Li thought. Weren’t demons supposed to appear with killing intent blazing, shouting and rampaging? This was different from the original description…

As she followed the three forward, she tried to recall the plot carefully.

Lu Qianchuan clearly already understood the situation and said, “It seems that most of the townspeople have been parasitized by demon vines.”

Ding Li searched her memory and was certain—this thing had never been mentioned anywhere in the book.

What is this? Someone’s original creation again?
