Chapter – 01
In the Bestian Empire, which had unified the entire continent, there lived a mad dog.
His name was Aldehyd.
A man who had suddenly appeared out of nowhere and unified the entire continent.
There were stories that he had slain a dragon, and rumors that he had beaten the Demon King half to death.
In other words, he was what people would call the strongest man in the world.
But as they say, even God does not give everything to a single human.
âWhat is it, old man?â
Aldehyd spoke as he elegantly stretched out his long legs.
The man called old man by himâthe Emperorâlet out a deep sigh.
What a rude bastard. His personality is completely rotten. Just because he’s the strongest, does that make everything okay?
Unfortunately, that was exactly how the world worked.
That was all there was to it.
On top of that, the one who had saved his life and even placed him on the throne was Aldehyd.
I’m basically just a puppet, so what can I doâŚ
He knew very well that if Aldehyd wished it, his head could be hanging from a guillotine immediately.
âN-No, well, Duke Aldehyd. Thatâs not what I meantâŚâ
âWhat are you making me do this time? Iâm busy.â
âTh-then⌠just listen to me for one minute. You can do that, right?â
When Aldehyd nodded half-heartedly, the Emperor glanced at his face and sighed inwardly.
âAnyway, as thanks for unifying the Empire over the past three years, Iâve already given you a title, land, and money.â
âYeah. And?â
âIs there anything else you need?â
âNot really.â
He had literally appeared out of nowhere. Naturally, his origins were impossible to trace, and even the name Aldehyd was one he claimed to have given himself.
The Emperor had granted him the noble title of Duke and the position of Imperial Knight Commander.
Yes, that part was fine.
There was just one problem.
There was no one who could put a leash on him.
The Emperor desperately wanted to secure Aldehyd completely on his side. To ensure he could never betray him.
So the most convenient and effective solution he came up with wasâŚ
âI would like to arrange an engagement between you and my eldest daughter, Princess Rosaria, known as the greatest beauty of the Empire. Then you would become part of the imperial family. What do you think?â
At that moment, Aldehydâs expression turned cold.
Why? Why?!
Did he find out Rosaria wasn’t actually the greatest beauty in the Empire?
âHey, old man. Are you insane?â
The Emperor trembled at the murderous aura flowing around Aldehyd.
âI-If youâre uncomfortable with the ideaâŚâ
Suddenly, a faint blush appeared on Aldehydâs cheeks.
âI dream of a love marriage.â
He looked completely insane saying that.
The Emperor responded seriously, unconsciously using polite speech.
âI⌠I sincerely hope you achieve that dreamâŚâ
âYeah.â
Even though he cut off the Emperor’s words so bluntly, there was no one capable of stopping his rampage.
Aldehyd, who had looked impatient the entire conversation, checked his wristwatch and suddenly stood up.
âW-Where are you goingâŚ?â
âI’ve got an appointment. Why? You got more to say?â
As Aldehyd raised an eyebrow, the Emperor immediately shrank back.
âNothing particularly importantâŚâ
âGood. Iâm not getting engaged.â
Yes.
Better to just not talk to Aldehyd at all.
That guy was completely insane.
* * *
About ten minutes later.
Whistling, Aldehyd arrived in front of a building.
It was the headquarters of the Anmix Knights, the Emperorâs direct knight order.
The person Aldehyd, the Knight Commander, came to see was not anyone particularly special.
Just a magician.
Aldehyd, whose fierce expression made it seem like he could split the world in half if angered, hurried to open the archive room doorâthen suddenly stopped.
No, wait. This look isnât good.
He pulled out a small cute mirror with a ribbon attached from his pocket and checked his appearance.
âHmâŚâ
He stared at his reflection thoughtfully.
I look kinda cute today.
Because he forced the corners of his mouth upward, his face actually looked even more intimidating than usualâbut he didnât realize it.
After taking a deep breath with what he believed was his cutest possible expression, Aldehyd carefully opened the door.
A quiet voice came from inside.
âWhat? Who comes in without knocking?â
The man who didnât even flinch before the Emperor immediately shrank.
Then he spoke.
âSowwy⌠noona⌠can I come in?â
Shockingly, he was speaking in baby talk.
If the Emperor had heard this, he might have fainted.
But the woman simply replied casually.
âAlde? Sure, come in.â
As Aldehyd fully stepped inside, the lights clicked on.
Like a puppy with separation anxiety, he walked straight toward her, following her scent.
âAldehyd, wait there.â
The huge man instantly drooped his shoulders.
Anyone could see he looked sulky.
âIâm not Aldehyd⌠Iâm Ppuppu⌠sniffâŚâ
âYou should speak like an adult.â
âSniff⌠okayâŚâ
Aldehyd cautiously watched her reaction.
Because she was the person he respected and loved most in the worldâhis noona.
* * *
Meanwhile, Siennaâthe “noona” in questionâpressed her fingers to her forehead.
A young man suddenly speaking in baby talk⌠how unfortunate.
But she had no idea what caused it.
She sighed and pointed to the sofa.
âSit here first.â
âOkaayâŚâ
The giant man squeezed himself into a single-person sofa.
Sienna sat across from him and asked seriously:
âSo Aldeâno, Ppuppu. Why exactly are you talking like that?â
âHuh? You said I was cute before⌠and that you like men who act adorableâŚâ
When a huge man with a cold face tries to act cute, it becomes mentally exhausting to witness.
Sienna brushed her hair back.
âSo what did you come all this way to say?â
âI missed you.â
âI told you not to act like this at work. Youâre my superior and Iâm your subordinate.â
Sienna pressed her forehead again.
His sulky expression clearly said:
Are we just boss and subordinate? Thatâs all we are?
But she couldn’t let this slide.
âOur relationship is supposed to be a secret. We agreed it would interfere with work.â
âOkay okay. Then just grant me one favorâŚâ
Aldehyd carefully hunched his shoulders.
But since he had such a massive frame, it didnât make him look small.
He just looked like a giant man with slightly hunched shoulders.
âWhat is it?â
âNoona⌠skip the company dinner and eat with me instead.â
âNo. Tonightâs menu is beef.â
At her firm answer, Aldehyd flinched and curled his shoulders further.
A 190 cm giant using passive emotional pressure.
Sienna felt dizzy.
âWhat? Why that depressed face? You hate saving your own money that much?â
ââŚBecause.â
âYou’re tall. If you mumble like that I canât hear you.â
He lowered his head and leaned toward her ear, whispering slightly louder.
âThereâs a man thereâŚâ
âThereâs only one. And Duke Bricks is a married man in his sixties, Ppuppu.â
âHuh? Bricks? You said his name?â
His baby talk instantly disappeared.
At the same time, his eyebrows shot up.
The return of his normal speech was welcome.
The more dangerous expression was not.
More precisely, it meant Duke Bricksâ life might be in danger.
âAhem.â
At one word from Sienna, Aldehydâs eyes immediately became obedient.
âBut still, that guyââ
She firmly corrected him.
âWho addresses a man in his sixties without proper honorifics?â
âBut⌠heâs still a manâŚâ
She had no idea what he meant.
Still, she tried to calm him down.
But the moment she grabbed his shoulder, his ears slowly turned red.
âCanât you stay with me instead?â
His thick fingers slipped between hers.
Their fingers slowly intertwined.
She could feel his pulse at her fingertips.
His warmth spread into her hand.
Aldehydâs cheeks were already flushed.
Looking straight into her eyes, he whispered sweetly like he was begging for affection.
âIâm jealous.â
Sienna let out a deep sigh.
I just wanted to spend the rest of my life quietly doing good deeds before dying.
Instead, a cute but insane man had suddenly entered her fishing pond.
She hadnât even built the pond.
He built the net himself and quietly trapped himself inside it.
Where exactly did things go wrong?
