Chapter 171
“Where is this?”
A girl who looked to be around seventeen or eighteen years old, and who resembled 林小雅, stood within an unfamiliar grand hall. At least to her, the place was completely foreign. She carefully observed her surroundings before voicing her confusion.
Why say she merely resembled 林小雅?
Because 林小雅’s hair had already turned silver-white, while this girl had purple hair instead.
However, the sponge-mop-shaped hammer in her hand clearly revealed her identity.
She looked around, seemingly searching for something.
“Am I the first one to wake up? That’s not normal.”
The girl sounded puzzled. Then, she suddenly noticed the cloud-like figure seated upon the throne, casually playing with a yellow-white pearl.
The two looked very alike. Or rather, both of them looked very similar to 林小雅.
The cloud figure rested its head on one hand and lounged lazily upon the throne.
Their eyes met.
A vague smile slowly appeared on the cloud figure’s face.
“Well~ don’t you think you showed up a little too early?”
“Who are you? Why have I never seen you before?”
She attempted to gather lightning, but not even the slightest bit of energy responded. That immediately caused her grip on the hammer to tighten.
“As for me~ why should you care?”
The cloud figure suddenly laughed.
The laughter echoed through the great hall like wind chimes, yet carried a strangely sinister charm.
A faint gust of wind brushed past her ears.
The cloud figure casually raised a hand. Its bent index finger effortlessly stopped the hammerhead just before it smashed down upon its head.
“As expected of you. To think you can already achieve this level with nothing but raw physical burst power.”
“But… you’re still not qualified.”
The girl suddenly felt her entire body trembling, even though the other party had seemingly done nothing at all.
“Well, although you woke up a bit early, it doesn’t really matter. Just go do whatever you’re supposed to do. It won’t affect anything anyway.”
The cloud figure looked at her.
Though its face remained indistinct and blurry, to her it felt incomparably clear—especially that smile.
“Understand?”
Suddenly, the girl’s body began distorting.
Immediately afterward, one of the twenty-four statues within the hall emitted a purple glow.
Then she appeared beneath that statue.
And after that, there was nothing left.
Even the purple light vanished.
“Where is this?”
the girl asked.
“Sea of consciousness.”
……
……
“Hahahahaha! That was seriously exciting!”
The boy sprawled across a sofa and laughed wildly. His arms were spread open while his head rested against a soft cushion. The two black-robed figures stood slightly behind him on either side.
This place seemed to be something like a reception hall, and many people had gathered here.
Most of them had pointed ears.
This was 伊莎洛’s airship.
“Exciting my ass! We almost died, alright?!”
伊莎洛 still felt lingering fear. In the final seconds before the attack landed, she had clearly seen the attacker—it was the woman who had fought the boy earlier. She resembled the little girl they had met at 杨立万’s place, though that little girl definitely had not been this strong.
The power of that flash was already close to the main cannon of this battleship.
“The alternate personality under Elemental Burst state is indeed troublesome, but dying wasn’t really a possibility.”
The boy smiled as he spoke.
The two people beside him were no pushovers.
“I feel like I’m becoming more and more interested in her.”
伊莎洛 had an inexplicable intuition that the woman would definitely be helpful to her research.
“This is your ally?”
The man named 马特, who could be considered 伊莎洛’s uncle, asked in disbelief.
Making a Level 0 nobody into an ally was the sort of idiotic thing no sane person would ever do.
“What? Looking down on me?”
The boy slightly raised his head.
Suddenly, 马特 felt a faint pressure descend upon him.
Breathing became a little difficult.
“N-No, not at all. I’m just curious.”
马特 hurriedly apologized in a humble tone. Even he himself did not understand why he felt wary of this boy.
Perhaps it was because of the two attendants behind him whose levels he could not determine.
Why would a person with no level possess such powerful followers?
At that moment, 马特 suddenly understood something.
“I still have things to take care of, so I won’t accompany you further.”
With that, 马特 left the room. As he departed, the other researchers also gradually followed him out.
Suddenly, 伊莎洛 felt extra weight around her waist, as though something had latched onto her.
“Y-You’re back.”
It was a soft and delicate little loli girl.
Silver hair.
Blood-red eyes.
A baby bottle clutched tightly in her hands.
She wrapped both arms around 伊莎洛’s waist from behind, her head positioned exactly where 伊莎洛’s chest would be. Not literally against her chest, of course—she was behind her, after all.
She peeked her head out and glared at the boy with hostility filling her eyes.
“Who’s he?”
The moment the girl entered the boy’s line of sight, he smelled the scent of blood.
It seemed to naturally emanate from her body like a kind of perfume.
What a strange body fragrance.
“Your daughter?”
“Bullshit! I’ve never even been married! Where would I get a daughter from? I just picked this little thing up in 魔族 territory.”
Picked up?
So she was merely something picked up?
Why hadn’t 伊莎洛 answered her question first? She had clearly been the one who asked first.
柳月笙’s gaze suddenly became fiercer.
伊莎洛 failed to notice it, but the boy saw it all clearly.
He chuckled softly.
伊莎洛 really had picked up something extraordinary.
“柳月笙, why are you squeezing so tightly all of a sudden? It’s getting hard to breathe.”
伊莎洛 gently patted 柳月笙’s head.
She was so tiny—why was she so strong?
“Who is this person?”
Instead of answering, 柳月笙 repeated her question.
“My ally. A weird person. He’s here to help me complete my experiments.”
That was about all 伊莎洛 knew.
So just an ally?
柳月笙 loosened her grip slightly, though she still tightly hugged 伊莎洛’s waist. She buried her head a little deeper into a rather strange spot.
Mm~ smells nice.
伊莎洛 suddenly felt rather uncomfortable.
“Well then, let me introduce myself properly.”
The boy smiled.
“Hello, little one. My name is 月无名. I’m a reader.”
