Chapter – 03
Racing really was a sport for the rich.
An ordinary family’s financial situation simply couldn’t support this kind of hobby.
But that thought only lasted a moment. What attracted her more was the design of the club. The overall style was industrial.
From the moment she stepped inside, she could feel the care put into every detail. In the center of the exhibition hall stood a series of cement-colored V-shaped pillars, presenting the unique charm of automobiles in their own way.
Discarded car parts were used as design elements. Racing cars, engines, and repair shop components were dismantled, reinterpreted, and reorganized into display shelves, showcases, and decorative props, forming a more complete and flexible exhibition system while creating a well-balanced flow throughout the space.
Two-tone lighting was used to add depth and highlight a distinctive modern industrial atmosphere.
Ye Yueāer curiously touched things here and there like Grandma Liu entering the Grand View Garden for the first time.
“As expected of the biggest racing club in the country. There’s really a whole different world inside,” she said.
At that moment, a man wearing a black T-shirt walked toward them.
“Are you here to watch tonight’s race too?” His voice came from near and far.
Chu Yihan glanced at the logo on the left side of his chest. It had the words Feile Club printed on it. He looked like an employee.
Ye Yueke looked at the man. He wasn’t very old, looking like a college student, with neat and handsome features.
“Yes. Could you tell us where the racetrack is?”
“There are still more than ten minutes before the race begins. You can go to the restaurant bar on the second floor first and grab something to eat.”
“The race venue is right behind the club. Someone will lead you there later.”
After arriving on the second floor, Chu Yihan felt a bit impressed by the club owner. He really knew how to make money. The second floor was practically a perfect leisure and social space.
Here you could enjoy food, entertainment, and racing events you couldn’t find elsewhere.
But Yueāer had told her earlier in the car that this club operated on a membership system. Non-members normally weren’t allowed inside.
Tonight’s race was open to the public, apparently to celebrate the owner’s recent championship win, which was why outsiders were allowed in.
No wonder Yueāer insisted on bringing her.
Chu Yihan picked up the menu, scanned the QR code, and ordered shrimp pasta and a sirloin steak.
“Yiyi, let’s order a drink,” Ye Yueāer said while looking toward the bar. “That bartender looks really professional.”
Chu Yihan followed her gaze and smiled slightly, exposing her friend’s little thoughts.
“You think he’s handsome, don’t you?”
Ye Yueāer chuckled.
“You know me.”
“The staff here are all pretty good-looking.”
“If I hadn’t checked beforehand, I would’ve suspected the club owner was a woman who hired based on looks.”
“I’m going to order a cocktail.”
Chu Yihan slowly cut her steak with a knife and fork.
“Go ahead. I don’t feel like drinking tonight.”
Ye Yueāer had only been gone for about two minutes when a man in a dress shirt walked over with a glass of red wine.
“Beautiful lady, are you alone?”
Before she could reply, he had already pulled out a chair and sat across from her.
He had noticed her from the moment she walked in. He also knew she wasn’t aloneābut that didn’t matter.
Without exaggeration, she was the most beautiful and elegant woman he had ever seen, far surpassing any of his previous girlfriends.
Hearing his frivolous tone, Chu Yihan frowned slightly and said calmly:
“My friend is over there.”
She glanced toward the bar.
But the man didn’t take the hint. He continued:
“I’m a member of this club. I’ll pay for your mealāconsider it my way of making friends with a beautiful woman.”
“…”
Chu Yihan replied flatly:
“I’ve already paid.”
“If you don’t have anything else to do, you can leave. This is my friend’s seat.”
With such an obvious dismissal, anyone with a bit of self-respect would have left immediately.
But the man had no intention of leaving. Just as he was about to say something else, Ye Yueāer’s voice interrupted him:
“Sir, please move. This is my seat.”
The man glanced at Chu Yihan, his eyes showing annoyance at her rejection, then left with his wine glass.
Ye Yueke looked at her beautiful friend and teased:
“Yiyi, your romantic luck is pretty strong.”
She had seen her friend being approached and looking uncomfortable, so she immediately came back.
Chu Yihan took a sip of lemon water.
“This kind of luckāI don’t want it.”
After they finished eating, the race was about to begin.
The two followed the crowd toward the racetrack behind the club and chose seats with the best view.
“Why hasn’t Jiang Yu appeared yet? I came here specifically to see him.”
“Most people here tonight came because of Jiang Yu. Haven’t you noticed how crowded it is? Especially with girls.”
After hearing the girls chatting nearby, Chu Yihan looked around. It was indeed as they said.
An excited and admiring male voice said:
“Jiang Yu went to Monaco recently to compete in an F1 Formula race and won the championship.”
“Formula One is the highest-level annual series of circuit racing competitions organized by the FIA. It’s the highest level of racing in the world today.”
“It’s famous for its extreme speed. It’s the frontier of automotive technology and the ultimate test of a driver’s skill and courage.”
After listening, Chu Yihan nodded slightly.
Sounds pretty impressive.
She couldn’t help but feel more anticipation for tonight’s race.
“Jiang Yu! He’s out!”
A loud voice suddenly rang out.
Chu Yihan looked toward the track.
Five people walked into the arena together, all dressed in black racing suits and holding helmets.
Although she had never seen Jiang Yu before, she was certainā
The one walking on the far right was the man everyone was talking about.
